Luxury in Udaipur for Free – My Marriott Bonvoy Points Redemption Story

 I recently spent 5 luxurious nights at the newly opened Udaipur Marriott Hotel — and the best part? I booked it entirely using Marriott Bonvoy points.

Opened on April 15, 2025, the Udaipur Marriott is Marriott’s first property in the City of Lakes. Just 5 minutes from Fateh Sagar Lake, it’s surrounded by the scenic Aravali hills and located about 25 km from Udaipur Airport.

Room Upgrade & Gold Elite Benefits

As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member, I was upgraded from a Deluxe Room to a Premier Room with Balcony — with complimentary breakfast included, a rare perk on points bookings.Welcome benefit of 500 points is given on each stay as well. Early check-in or check-out benefit is available subject to availability,  but I did not need it for this stay.

Evening High Tea & Cultural Experience

Each evening, the hotel hosts a complimentary high tea with a one-hour cultural show — think Rajasthani folk dances and live music. A lovely touch of local charm.

Rooftop Pool & Family-Friendly Kids Zone

The rooftop pool overlooks the Aravalis and offers a partial view of Fateh Sagar Lake. Right beside it is a glass-walled kids' area with toys, slides, games, and a dedicated staff.

Dining at Okra

Okra is the hotel’s only restaurant (for now) and serves a great breakfast buffet. On days with fewer guests, they switch to à la carte service to reduce food waste.

Outstanding Service

Every member of staff was warm and professional — from security at the entrance to the servers and housekeeping.

Executive Lounge Access

Available to Platinum and above Bonvoy members, the lounge offers complimentary evening cocktails — perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.

How I Booked It for Free

I redeemed 47,500 Marriott Bonvoy points for 5 nights. With Marriott’s “Stay 5, Pay for 4” benefit, night with lowest points is free. Revenue rate was 19k per night, so I got an exceptional value on my booking through points.

Most of these points came from my Amex Platinum Charge Card and Amex Rewards Card.
