The IndusInd Avios Visa Infinite Credit Card, especially the Qatar Privilege Club variant, created massive buzz in India during the first week of January 2026. On paper, this card looked like one of the best premium travel credit cards ever launched, but the way IndusInd Bank handled the launch and execution turned it into a major debacle.
In this blog, I share my personal experience, the exceptional Avios offer, card benefits, and why the overall process left a bad taste, despite the card itself being genuinely premium.
IndusInd Avios Visa Infinite – Exception Offer That Broke the Internet
In the first week of January 2026, IndusInd Bank rolled out an exceptional limited-time offer on the Qatar Privilege Club Avios Visa Infinite Credit Card:
🔥 Joining Bonus Breakdown
Existing joining bonus: 20,000 Avios
Additional limited-time bonus: 20,000 Avios
Total Avios: 40,000 Avios
Joining fee: ₹10,000 + GST
This effectively meant you could get 40,000 Avios for just ₹10,000, making it one of the best value airline credit card offers in India.
Naturally, I applied immediately on 2nd January 2026, and my KYC was completed the same day.
Offer Revoked Within a Week – A Massive PR Disaster
What followed was absolute chaos.
- Social media was flooded with blogs, YouTube videos, and Instagram reels
- Lot of people applied within days
- The offer was initially valid for the entire month of January
- IndusInd abruptly revoked the offer within the first 6 days
This sudden rollback became a huge embarrassment for the bank. The way the offer was withdrawn, without clear communication, reflected poor planning and even poorer execution.
For a premium Visa Infinite product, this level of confusion is simply unacceptable.
Shockingly Bad Application & Communication Process
My experience with the application process was extremely disappointing.
❌ No Proper Communication
- No email confirming approval
- No status update on card issuance
- No clarity on eligibility for the bonus
❌ Priority Pass Arrived Before the Credit Card
7th January: Priority Pass delivered
No confirmation whether the card was approved
When I emailed customer support, they couldn’t even find my application
At this point, I had no record of approval date, no tracking, and no transparency.
Based on the Priority Pass delivery date, I assume my card was approved before the offer was revoked, and hence I should still be eligible for the additional 20,000 Avios.
Card Delivered on 9th January – Immediate Activation & Spend
Finally, on 9th January 2026, the credit card was delivered.
I immediately:
- Activated the card
- Completed the mandatory ₹5,000 transaction, which was the prerequisite for earning the bonus Avios
Current Status:
Base Avios for the ₹5,000 spend are already visible in the IndusInd app
Avios not yet transferred to Qatar Privilege Club
Joining bonus of 20,000 Avios is expected after statement generation and joining fee payment
Bank claims bonus credit timeline is by April 2026
Given how poorly the offer was handled, it remains to be seen whether IndusInd honors the additional 20,000 Avios.
Premium Unboxing Experience & Card Design
Credit where it’s due — the physical product is excellent.
💳 What I Liked
- Premium metal card
- Heavy, solid feel
- Qatar Privilege Club number printed on the back
- High-end packaging box
- Looks and feels like a true Visa Infinite card
- From a design and branding perspective, IndusInd has done a great job.
Why Avios Are Extremely Valuable
Avios points can be used across multiple airlines:
- Qatar Airways
- British Airways
- Qantas
- Finnair
- Vueling
Personally, I’ve already booked international flights using Avios, and 18000 Avios can easily get you:
India ↔ Sri Lanka return
Short-haul Middle East flights
Partial redemption on long-haul premium cabins
If credited correctly, this card can offer insane value for frequent travelers.
Final Verdict: Great Card, Disappointing Bank Experience
👍 Positives
- Incredible Avios earning potential
- Premium metal Visa Infinite card
- Excellent airline transfer partner (Qatar Airways)
- Strong value proposition if bonuses are honored
👎 Negatives
- Terrible communication
- Poor backend processing
- Offer revoked abruptly
- Customer support unable to track applications
- No clarity on bonus eligibility
Should You Apply for the IndusInd Avios Visa Infinite?
👉 Only if:
- You value Avios highly
- You are comfortable dealing with delays and uncertainty
- You get confirmation in writing about bonus eligibility
As of now, my experience with IndusInd Bank has been disappointing, not because of the product, but because of how badly the entire process was managed.
I’ll update this blog once the joining bonus Avios are actually credited.
