After spending an incredible week exploring Uzbekistan, it was finally time to head back to India. My return journey was on Uzbekistan Airways from Tashkent to Mumbai, scheduled at 8 AM. Since I was flying in economy class, I made sure to maximize my travel experience by using my Priority Pass to access the Anjir Business Lounge—the only lounge at Tashkent International Airport that allows complimentary entry via Priority Pass.
First Impressions of Anjir Lounge
Before my visit, I checked Google reviews—and honestly, they were quite negative. That set my expectations pretty low. However, my actual experience turned out to be surprisingly good.
The lounge wasn’t crowded since I arrived early in the morning. With a capacity of around 30 people, it felt calm and peaceful—perfect before an international flight.
Priority Pass Access – Smooth & Hassle-Free
One thing I really appreciated was that the lounge accepts digital Priority Pass cards. No need to carry a physical card, which is super convenient for frequent travelers.
✔️ Complimentary access even while flying economy
✔️ Quick check-in process
✔️ No long queues during morning hours
Lounge Layout & Seating
The Anjir Lounge is divided into two sections:
- Upper Floor: Reserved for business class passengers
- Ground Floor: Accessible via Priority Pass
The ground floor area is compact but functional. While it’s not the most spacious lounge, the seating is comfortable enough for short stays. Charging points are conveniently located near most seats, making it easy to charge your devices before boarding.
Shower Facility – A Big Plus!
The standout feature of this lounge is definitely the shower facility—a rare perk for a smaller lounge:
- I only had to wait about 5 minutes
- The shower room is compact but clean
- Towels and basic amenities are provided
After a week of travel, a quick shower before a flight feels like a luxury—and this lounge delivers exactly that.
Food & Drinks Options
The food spread is limited but decent, especially considering the lounge size:
- A few vegetarian options were available
- Taste was average but acceptable
- Complimentary alcoholic beverages are served
Don’t expect a lavish buffet, but it’s good enough for a quick bite before your flight.
Overall Experience
I spent about an hour in the lounge before heading to the boarding gates. Despite the negative reviews online, my experience was quite positive.
Pros:
✔️ Free access via Priority Pass (even in economy class)
✔️ Shower facility available
✔️ Comfortable seating with charging points
✔️ Accepts digital Priority Pass
✔️ English speaking staff
Cons:
❌ Limited food options
❌ Small space
❌ Not a luxury lounge experience
Final Verdict – Is Anjir Lounge Worth It?
If you’re flying from Tashkent and have a Priority Pass, the Anjir Lounge is absolutely worth visiting. It may not be a premium luxury lounge, but it offers essential comforts—especially the shower facility—that can significantly enhance your travel experience.
Sometimes, lounges exceed expectations when you least expect them—and Anjir Lounge did exactly that for me.
