Upon arriving at the Oryx Lounge, the check-in process was seamless and fast. I didn’t have to wait long, and the staff were polite and professional, ensuring I could start relaxing immediately. The lounge was almost empty at the time, which made the environment quiet, calm, and very comfortable.
Lounge Layout & Seating – Spacious and Family-Friendly
The Oryx Lounge is extremely spacious, with plenty of room to stretch out and unwind. Comfortable seating options were available throughout, and I noticed dedicated areas for families, ensuring privacy and a peaceful experience for all guests. Even during busier hours, the lounge seemed well-organized and inviting.
Food & Beverages – Similar Yet Satisfying
The food offerings at Oryx Lounge were almost identical to Al Maha Lounge, featuring a wide selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, hot meals, and desserts. Since I had already eaten at Al Maha Lounge, I tried only the soup here, which was delicious and freshly prepared. Drinks and refreshments were also readily available, catering to all preferences.
Relaxing Environment – Ideal for Short Layovers
I spent about half an hour in the lounge, taking in the calm environment, comfortable seating, and attentive service. The lounge was well-maintained, clean, and had a luxurious yet welcoming ambiance.
Exploring Hamad Airport After the Lounge Visit
After my short stay at Oryx Lounge, I headed out to explore Hamad International Airport, which is known for its stunning architecture, spacious terminals, and excellent passenger amenities. The lounge provided the perfect relaxation stop before heading back to the airport’s public areas.
Final Verdict – A Premium Experience with Air India
For Air India Maharaja Gold members, the Oryx Lounge at Doha Airport is a great option for a comfortable and quiet pre-flight experience. While the food mirrors that of Al Maha Lounge, the spacious layout, family-friendly sections, and almost empty environment make it a very relaxing stop.
Having free access through my Maharaja Gold status made the visit even more enjoyable, reaffirming the value of Air India’s premium loyalty benefits.
