Kuwait to Bahrain Flight Review: Kuwait Airways Economy Class Experience

Flying within the Middle East often means short hop flights, but every journey has its own unique experience. In this blog, I’m sharing my Kuwait to Bahrain flight experience on Kuwait Airways in economy class, including my long layover at Kuwait International Airport Terminal 4, strict security checks, lounge access using Priority Pass, and the onboard service on this quick regional flight.

Arrival at Kuwait International Airport – Terminal 4 Experience

I arrived at Kuwait International Airport Terminal 4 after landing from Mumbai on Kuwait Airways. I had a 5-hour layover in Kuwait before my connecting flight to Bahrain, and what stood out the most during this transit was the extremely high level of security checks.

After passing through the metal detector, I was manually frisked, which itself was quite thorough. However, the process didn’t end there. I was then asked to step aside for a paper swab test, something I experienced for the first time. At that moment, I wasn’t even sure what the test was for.

My cabin baggage, which had already passed through the X-ray machine, was manually inspected again, and a paper swab test was conducted on the bag as well. After completing all these checks, my name was recorded in a security register, and only then was I allowed to proceed toward the boarding gates.

This was by far one of the most intensive airport security screenings I’ve ever experienced, especially during a transit. While it did take some extra time, the process was professional and orderly.

Killing Time During a 5-Hour Layover – Al Mubarakiya Lounge Review

With several hours to spare, I decided to relax at the Al Mubarakiya Lounge, which is located in Terminal 4. I accessed the lounge completely free using Priority Pass, and it was a great decision.

The lounge accepts digital Priority Pass, making entry smooth and hassle-free. Inside, the lounge was comfortable, well-maintained, and perfect for spending a long layover. I used this time to unwind, freshen up, and grab some refreshments before heading to my next flight.

If you’re transiting through Kuwait Terminal 4 and have Priority Pass, Al Mubarakiya Lounge is a solid option to escape the crowded terminal.

Boarding Experience – Slight Delay

After spending a few hours in the lounge, I headed to the boarding gates assuming that boarding would begin on time. However, boarding started around 30 minutes later than the scheduled time. There was no major confusion, and boarding eventually proceeded smoothly.

Delays on short regional flights are not uncommon, so this didn’t impact my overall experience much.

Kuwait Airways Economy Class – Onboard Experience

This Kuwait to Bahrain flight is a very short sector, and I was once again seated by the window, which I personally prefer. The takeoff was smooth, and within no time, the crew began the onboard service.

A quick snack/light meal was served, which was appropriate given the short flight duration. The cabin crew was polite and efficient, ensuring everything was done swiftly.

Soon after the snack service, the landing announcement for Bahrain was made, highlighting just how short this flight really is.

Landing in Bahrain – Quick and Smooth

The descent and landing into Bahrain International Airport were smooth. Before you know it, the flight was over. The entire journey from Kuwait to Bahrain felt more like a short commute than a full flight.

Overall Experience – Is Kuwait Airways Worth It for Short Regional Flights?

Overall, my Kuwait Airways economy class experience from Kuwait to Bahrain was quick, comfortable, and efficient. While the security checks at Kuwait Airport were extremely strict, the lounge access helped make the long layover much more pleasant.

If you’re flying between Kuwait and Bahrain, Kuwait Airways offers a reliable option for this short route. Just be prepared for enhanced security procedures at Kuwait International Airport, especially during transit.

Final Verdict:

✔️ Smooth and short flight

✔️ Decent onboard snack for a regional route

✔️ Excellent lounge access via Priority Pass

❗ Very strict and time-consuming security checks
